Who We Are

Hi! We are Kate and Katie, and we are the owners of Selah Doula Co. We are trained doulas that feel a special calling to show the love of Christ to women during the sacred time of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We offer spiritual encouragement, physical support, and emotional uplifting, to name a few!

Services & Pricing

What We Offer

Discover our comprehensive birth services, designed to help prepare you for pregnancy, labor and birth, postpartum, and beyond. We are committed to supporting you in any birth space, whether it is a hospital, birth center, or homebirth!

Prenatal Visits

We provide two prenatal visits that are in-home. At these visits, we become acquainted with you and your partner, help you build your birth plan, provide evidence-based knowledge, practice positioning and counter pressure, and much much more!

Labor Support

We provide continuous support through the duration of your birth. We do not charge extra fees regardless of how long your birth lasts! After birth, we stay for an hour to help establish breastfeeding and make sure you're taken care of.

Postpartum Visit

2-3 weeks after your birth, we provide an in-home postpartum visit. We discuss and reflect on your birth experience, answer any questions you might have about newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum health. We also bring you a homemade treat or dish of your choice!

We charge $1100 for our services in total. This includes both prenatal visits, the duration of our labor support and hour of postpartum support, as well as the postpartum visit!

If you are interested in extra postpartum doula care, please let us know, as this is something we are willing to arrange for our birth clients.

There’s always something so special about each birth. This first time mama had a long, hard, physically and emotionally exhausting labor but she did not once waiver! Halley’s positive attitude with her husbands infinite support and help of her own mama, and us is what really helped her through.

Those first looks from mama AND first time grandma are absolutely priceless and precious and I know will be treasured for years to come. Halley and Isaac, you both worked so so hard to bring baby Donovan earthside and what a joy it was to support you on this journey. Congratulations to this beautiful family 💙

Jordan was an absolute champ for the birth of her first baby. After a long 3 days of labor, sweet baby Callie was finally in her arms!
As many of you know, having a long labor is hard physically, mentally and emotionally. I admire Jordan and Kyle greatly for their positive attitudes and kindness over the several days it took for baby Callie to arrive!
It was also so incredible to see the way Jordan’s best friend supported her during labor. The affects of women supporting women is truly unmatched.💞

A few weeks ago we celebrated the birth of Lauren and Connor’s baby boy!

Wow, what a birth!! Larissa was so calm and joyous during her water birth at home.
Hypnobirthing recordings, essential oils, heat packs on her lower back, and acupressure points were the things that Larissa utilized during this labor, and it helped her achieve the birth she desired!
She literally smiled through the entire thing, and it was absolutely beautiful. My favorite moment was when her baby’s head was out and she paused, with a huge smile on her face, to wait for her other older children to gather around the tub so they could see their baby brother be born🫶🏼
I will never forget this incredible birth! And it was awesome to work with @naturalbirthkc for her midwives!

This mama absolutely ROCKED her birth! She had one long and hard labor and she worked and fought through every surge to bring their third baby BOY earthside! Emily and Brad are the ULTIMATE power couple and I’m willing to die on that hill lol. The LOVE they show for one another especially in something so physically and emotionally taxing such as childbirth is quite literally the most beautiful thing I’ve seen yet. The way Brad hyped up his wife the whole time just had me in total awe 💙

These are moments Im certain they’ll treasure forever. The way Brad supported her throughout, Emily first meeting and holding her third baby boy, and last but not least… TWO of the best big brothers completely ELATED to meet their baby brother.

Devon’s birth was an honor to be apart of.
I will never forget how much love could be felt in the room as her daughters and mom welcomed this baby girl into the world. Devon’s oldest daughter even got to assist the midwife delivering her baby sister, and Devon’s youngest daughter cut the cord.
Baby girl is so very loved and has some incredible women in her life to look up to!💗

Are you wanting a doula to support you for your birth but don’t know how your spouse/birth partner will fit in too?
One of our main goals as doulas is to help your partner help you! We want your partner to be as involved with your birth as they want to be!
We can give them the tools they need to assist you however is helpful to you. That might look like: guiding them in counter pressure techniques, suggesting encouraging words to share, or simply offering them a moment to rest while we continue to engage with you during labor.
Most of all, your birth partner offers a sense of security and safety that no one else can provide, which is absolutely invaluable in the birth space. Our main goal is to support birthing mothers, but we are also there to support the fathers because we recognize their vital role in birth!

“What is a doula?”
We get this question allllll the time.
The word “doula” wasn’t used to describe this birth support role until the 70’s when the doula movement began. It comes from a Greek word which means “female helper or servant”.
If our role could be summarized in one word, it would be “support”!
Not just labor support, but prenatal support, postpartum support, emotional support, spiritual support, physical support, breastfeeding support, partner support, etc etc etc.
We are here to support you however YOU need!🫶🏼

Late post because life gets crazy, but definitely not forgotten! Holding these sweet babies of my clients is definitely just one of the perks that come along with this incredible god filled job! This sweet mama came with some unfortunate birth trauma that laid behind her so there were alllll the emotions. One of the strongest mamas I’ve met. I remember her texting me a couple days leading up to sweet Georgias birth just keeping me in the loop. She had some prodromal labor for a couple days and then BAM, Georgia girl decided it was her day! She texted me letting me know she was headed to the hospital and for me to head there as well. I arrived and couldn’t go back just yet as she was in triage. We were texting back and forth and she thought things had fizzled out and she felt disappointed in herself. I reassured her that she would come when she was ready and when GOD was ready. I began to doze off in the waiting room with my phone in my hand. Not even 5min later her water broke and boy did things take off! Water broke around 11:19pm and baby girl was earthside just an hour later. Just when the doubts began to creep in, god showed his beautiful presence and reminded us that he’s in control. Just because the birth may not have gone exactly how mama envisioned, she remained INFORMED, AUTONOMOUS, and ultimately ended the birth process feeling EMPOWERED which is the most important. Georgia Lin, you are one beautiful girl and thank you for bringing a new found lifelong friendship between your mama and I 💗

A postpartum visit is included in our doula care services. It’s when we get to review the birth and talk together about the birth experience, offer breastfeeding advice/support, answer any newborn care/postpartum recovery questions, and fellowship together.
Our commitment to support our clients doesn’t stop after the birth of their baby. We understand that supporting mamas postpartum is just as important as supporting them during labor.🤍

When they say pictures speak 1000 words… Kyndra’s birth was Kates first birth to attend as a doula and WOW, what an incredible and beautiful experience. Kyndra had been through ALOT in her personal life just throughout the duration of her pregnancy on top of taking care of her three older boys solo so she’s already a rockstar in my book. When I arrived to the birth center, Kyndra was already in active labor and I just so happened to beat the midwife there. I immediately jumped into supporting her in the entry way as we waited on the midwife. Things moved along pretty quickly and as soon as she got in the tub, baby girl was earthside in under 30mins! Kyndra’s labor was a true example of how a physiological normal birth should look. She remained calm and grounded even through the most painful contractions. She leaned into them and into God, and recognized that every contraction was one closer to meeting her first baby girl after three boys! Baby girl Aisling arrived after only 3 hours of arriving to the birth center. Kyndra’s face really shows it all. It shows the relief that her baby girl was here, safe and healthy, Kyndra’s exhaustion from how hard she worked to bring baby girl earthside, and all the love she has to give. I’m so proud of Kyndra and Aisling, and so grateful I was welcomed into their birth space.

Welcome to our page! I myself (Kate on bottom) am a wife and mama to 3 handsome earthly boys and one in heaven. I’m also a bonus mama to my beautiful girl! Katie (top) is a wife and mama to 2 beautiful girls and one handsome boy. Katie and I met during our doula training and quite literally, God laid it on both of our hearts to go into business together serving women throughout pregnancy and postpartum and so here we are!
